Lewis Hamilton in F1 for 2007

Featured Replies

Lewis Hamilton has finally been confirmed as Fernando Alonso's partner at McLaren for 2007.:thumbup:

Let's hope it's not a case of too much too soon for the talented young man.

Lets hope McLaren get to the line....well they have to this year or....

anyone for eggs?

Also hoping it's not too much too soon, for the likeable young man.

I'm just hoping he's been taken on based 100% on his driving ability and not a small % based on his skin colour :rolleyes:

I think he's got the talent, and sincerely hope that there will be a trade-off in that his colour will prove to be good for the sport.

Those that have followed F1 for a few years will remember the hype surrounding Jenson Button getting a F1 drive. Sadly for us, and particularly Jenson, it didn't quite work out that way.

I don't want to sound a pessimist, but these are tricky times for F1. Hence I hope that same doesn't happen to Lewis.

I guess there might be a suspicion of that by some people but given that:

a) McLaren / Dennis have mentored him from a very young age;

B) he has won almost everything that has been put in front of him

... I don't think there is any of that involved :thumbup:

I wish him well and he'll ahev a tough time being compared with his team mate but i personally think he's got what it takes - he is fast but also a grinder / reliable when he needs to be - a combination you need to win championships.

Yeah Lewis is fast and reliable, as is Fernando. Now, will the Macca prove to be the same? ;)

based on the reliability of the recent few seasons i would say no , it cost Kimi at least one championship , but good luck to Lewis
