Crap Dealer

Featured Replies

Well my first experience with a Skoda dealer is not a good one. About a month ago i phoned Caffyns to ask for a test drive of the Octavia, no phonecall back. Thought i would try again last week and enquire again with another salesman. Yes still waiting 10 days later, obviously they don't want to sell any cars at the moment or they are very busy:mad: .

Unfortunately, caffyns are not the only dealer not to do that.

My local dealer didnt phone me when they got the Octy 2 vRS Diesel, even tho they know me quite well.

The only dealer to ring me was a VW dealer, to say they had the Golf GT TSi, when it came in for me to test drive. I asked them 8 weeks before it was in the showroom and thet actually remembered. - That is service.

Well i hope the car is better than the dealers.

Go down in person, usually works better......oh yeah then place your order with a broker , save yourself a grand AND all that haggling.

Which Caffyns dealership are you naming and shaming?

Tunbridge Wells

I see that you live in Eastbourne which is unfortunate as there are no Skoda dealerships for miles around there!. Keep an eye out for me on Friday & Saturday as I'm visiting sunny Eastbourne (got a wedding to go to :( ).

Seen a few Skodas with these on the number plates, the Bexhill address is not shown on the Skoda website.

The Bexhill site is an approved skoda dealership for warranty work etc being part of the Saunders Abbot Group - this is where my car currently goes for warranty work and its one of the nearest dealers to me after the collapse of Saltdean Garage.

I take it you can buy new from them.

Looks like it from the home page  . Not sure about getting a second hand one from there though, they are rather 'optimistic' with their pricing!.

I got the worst service from Bexhill that I have ever had from any establishment in any trade. They bring new meaning to the phrase "couldn't care less".

I'd sooner buy a Trabant from a dealer in darkest Finland.

Ah, darkest Finland may have the best Trabant dealership in the world but you will be needing to visit them once a fortnight! :P

Which dealer?

Saunders Abbott - I didn't realise there was more than one.

I think I'd sooner do that than wander round the Tesco's next door to Saunders Abbott for 4 hours while they did nothing they were supposed to. Two x 80 mile round trips without even a "sorry".

I actually bought mine from there in February, and out of the blue yesterday, I had a courtesy call from them making sure I was happy with the car. I was a bit surprised to be honest.

I think the acid test would be what they would have done if you had had a problem!
