Turbo made a reappearance (110 TDi)

Featured Replies

This weekend I had a very quick fiddle under the bonnet, consisting of:

- pulling the small hose from the back of the airbox, and sucking/blowing down it

- unplugging the MAF sensor and plugging it back on

- slight fiddle with some of the pipework around the n75, although the pipes were very difficult to get off (I gave up rather than breaking anything!)

Anyway, I appeared to have a turbo to use this morning! I wonder if it will remain for my trip home!

maybe you either had a blockage/collapse or a loose connection. you might have cured your fault in the cheapest way possible :D

I have noticed previously that when I "play" in that general area (like when replacing the clutch slave cylinder), things seems to get better for a few days.

That sounds worrying like a small hole in one of the pipes to the N75 or in some other way related to teh turbo :S

Surely not....

Westover have assured me they have checked all the pipes

Westover are, erm actually I can't say that as there may be children watching.

Anyway is it still working?

Can you grease the pipe joints on these things or would the vaslene etc degrade these pipes of the N75 etc.

 Some adults might be shocked as well

Dunno, not gone home yet to find out! I guess I could grease the joints, but most of the ones I played with were pretty tight - so much that I was unable to get any of the pipes off without fear of breaking something. I did get some good scrub marks on my hands though!!
