I am looking for a CAN Bus unit for a fabia 2003 1200cc. Was wondering if anyone out there has any ideas where i CAN ( pardon the pun !! ) get one from? They're £400 from the dealers!!!

Which unit exactly is it you are looking for? Where is it located on the car?

Is it the one on the drivers side under the knee panel or is it the ECU?

I assume your existing one is faulty.

I think your only option will be a breakers.

As far as I know the units will be the same for all models but the soft coding will be different.

So you will need to get your exisitng one scanned for it's soft coding and program the 'new' one using VAG-COM or other scan tool.

It's the one under the driver's knee pad that controls indicaters, wipers etc.

It's known as the Voltage Control Unit. Easy to change, you just need to find one with the right part number.

You'll also need VAG-COM to set it up and code your vehicle options.

In the end I got one from the dealers it was £275.00 + vat once I gave him the part number off the old one and didn't need to be coded !
