Fabia Comfort 1.9Tdi 100bhp

A Fabia Comfort 1.9Tdi 100bhp on Y-plate with 36k on the clock has just become available from a colleague. He's asking

Theres been various roadtests of the Ibiza TDI 130 that has got between 7.9 and 8.5 seconds 0-60, so I'd imagine the RS is the same. I very much doubt the 100 bhp car is quicker than the vRS.

I'm picking up one of these at the weekend - I'm paying

Just read that article. Crikey, they do seem to like it...

...And so they should :D

PS: It should be quicker than a 1.2 16v clio... I think. Best Jabba it to be sure. :D

It will easily be quicker than one of those, even as stock. My dads 100 bhp Polo 1.9 TDI Sport is noticably quicker than my 1.4 16v Micra, and the Micra will easily see off a 1.2 16v Clio.

I've just come back from a very unscientific test with my vRS.

With a DL90 datalogger in the car, I've recorded 0-60 mph in 8.8 seconds.

The road wasn't flat (or straight!) and I only did the run in one direction, so there could be a few tenths either way. But with a bit of intellectual fiddling, I've got estimated power figures of around 150 bhp.

Perhaps I should complain to the dealer about having too much power?

No! Take it Jabba and moan about not having enough! :D

This sounds like a pretty good idea... pick up a 3 year old (out of waranty) Fabia with the 100bhp PD TDI engine and Jabba it to 140bhp for

Yes, the 100hp (more usually though, mine was 116) tdi can be great fun, especially after a visit to Jabbaport!

The road test result in dieselcar convinced me to buy one in the first place, especially with those test figures... its a bit lighter than the vRS and not to far behind performance wise.

Cant think of anything major to look out for, apart from creaking dash & dodgy brake light switches.

btw a clio 1.2 wouldnt see which way it went... ;)
