Numberplate sticker [cough!] DES [/cough]

Featured Replies

Cough up the info, Des. I texted you but perhaps your number is U/S now. :D

Anything related to the source/price/legality of your sticker of a numberplate. Had any issues with the law? I need the same thing. If you can be my "agent" to the place that did yours, I'd be very grateful. Needed a.s.a.p as I'm not sure how long my bluetac'd windscreen display will last with the fuzz.... ;)

Maybe worth trying a caravan / trailer type shop?

You should fit in well now you're a weekend gypsy

Des's front number plate is actually a normal sized UK plate with all the borders cut off - hence is completely legal as all letter sizing and spacing are of the required sizes! HTH!

Just get your hacksaw out and be neat about it!

I thought it was a sticker one, as it bends doesn't it? I may have to get a proper plate, and then use a bit of heat to get a bend on it. The part of my bumper I want it to go in is anything but straight.

Plastic can be bent ;)

Where are some pics of your c/f bonnet btw?

Search for "facelift" - Its been sprayed 100% silver but you can still get the weave from the underneath of it. ;)

as well as the spacing, sizing and typeface of the lettering, you have to have a minimum (11mm?) margin

we make number plates at work with a special computerised machine , this prints the numbers/letters the correct spacing onto the reflective yellow or white backing , these backings are then stuck to the clear plastic mounts for want of a better word. why dont you go and get a number plate made up and ask them to not to stick the backing to the plastic mount , that way you will have a flexible backing that can be covered with something like those document plastic sleeves that can be heated up to seal the plate in

or alternatively as has been said above ,the trailer/caravan/towing centre should be able to sort out a plate for you
