AA Skoda Cover???????

Featured Replies

SWMBO went to the hospital in Cirencester the other night (suspect broken thumb, but all ok now!) and when she came to leave the car park she (amazingly!) noticed that the Fabia's rear tyre was flat:mad:

I was still on the way home from London at the time, so suggested phoning the AA number in the wallet in the glovebox and getting them to come out and change the wheel over for her, as the car is covered by the three-year cover until September 2007:thumbup:

She calls me back 10 mins later and reckons that the woman on the other end of the phone wanted some kind of 'account number' or some other such thing.

Should I have an AA card or what? I didn't get one when I bought the car (private sale two months ago).

Any help appreciated,

P.S. She ended up getting a car park attendant to change the wheel for her (what a nice bloke) It was raining so hard that the spare wheel kit thingy had about an inch of water in it when I checked it all over this morning!!!!!

I have used it once and they simply took the reg No and my name, came out no probs, Strange that

Well yeah. I don;t think she realised that she had to tell them it was through Skoda, but there you go!!

Just out of interest, why did they need to know your name? How would they know it anyway? Unless you've had your Skoda from brand new of course.......?

I think when you buy it from brand new they give you a form you have to fill in to transfer details to the new owner, or maybe it was just the policy of the AA to take your name ???

When I've had to call the AA out (3 times over the past couple of months...) they've just taken my reg no. and that was it. Two recoveries and one roadside repair.

 Same here - all they asked for was name, car registration, location.

I think the Skoda AA number is different from the usual - I know I have it on a sticker in my car's rear window, just in case. I think I'll cancel next year though, as I've had no need to use them, and the ONE time I did need them to get me back from Santa Pod after snapping a driveshaft, they wanted £2 a mile....

thats exactly what i was told by my skoda dealership told me to do when bought it if i ever needed to use AA

Before i went to Portugal i called the AA. Got my account number from them etc.
