Fabia Facia removal

Featured Replies

I need to remove the facia below the dashboard - section that contains the driver's cubby holes and headlight switches.

I've removed all the torx head screws I can see but something seems to be stopping it coming away up by the steering column.

Anyone got any ideas?

That's the one!

Just found it too after removing the trim. Still can't get it out though. It comes loose but isn't totally free.

Just read through the guide and notice about removing the rubber air pipe (presumably to the driver's glovebox) but it doesn't feel that this is holding it. Hmmm.

Will work through the instructions in the guide in some more detail when it's a) light and B) not raining!

Any more hints very welcome ;)

Thanks a lot for the link!!

i think it will mention on Stus link that the light switch has to be removed before that panel can be removed

Also don't forget the screw in behind the fuse panel cover.

Got the screw under fuse cover :)

I'm assuming that the lights switch clips into the fascia itself, not the panel behind so it needs to come out in order to remove the wiring but not to remove the fascia per se?

Just tried to release the lights switch. Pushed in and rotated to 'P' but it doesn't come out easily. Reluctant to lever it in case I mark the trim. Should I just be braver and pull on the switch itself?

The switches are tight on some cars. If it doesn't come out with a firm tug then I normally ease the panel forward, reach behind with my fingers and give it a push from the back.

yes mine was tight and i now regret giving it a bit of a firm tug :(
