CLOCkers!!

Featured Replies

For those who don't know what CLOCkers are - Centre Lane Owners' Club.

I was driving up the A1(M), this evening, up the inside lane when I came across a car in the middle lane. :finger: This annoys the crap out of me because I now have to:-

A) undercut him/her.

B) pull in behind him/her and flash lights.

C) indicate, overtake (crossing into the third lane), then cross back in front of said car and into the inside lane.

I followed ©, as there wasn't much traffic about at this time.

What would others on here have done and why?

the other day i was coming down the M1 and there was a person sat in the outside lane doing about 60, thats ok but the inside 2 lanes were completly empty of trafficfoe about a mile. I decided that the best thing to do was just blast past in the inside lane leavin the middle lane free. For a change it wasnt a bmw though.

Any of these 3 depending on circumstances. And yes I realise a couple of them are illegal.

First option is sit there in the inside lane and "hover" just behind the blind spot, trying to make a point. I wouldn't use option 2 as I think it's a bit aggressive, but option 3 I will quite happily do. Might even do a couple of "do-si-do"s or whatever they're called, i.e let them overtake again then pull out and overtake, and repeat. Oh, and blatant overindication is required at all times. Maybe even a flash of hazards in the middle lane, before pulling over to the left to try and make a point.

Oh, and in my case, a cloud of soot could also be considered.

I've undertaken in the past, however it's best left to the undertakers....

would have done mirror, signal manouvre,..over taken , pulled back into middle, then inside lane and carried on along with my journey in a measured and orderly fashion :)

theres just TOO MANY of these 'dicks' on the road to let them worry me...

It's just annoying when you have to go to great lengths just to get past!

this is true, but its also true that you shouldnt let these dimwits 'vex' you.. it raises blood pressure therefore causing you to become irritable and that can in turn cause irrationality and mistakes to be made on any subsequent overtaking manouvres /judgements

:)

C for me everytime.

C, and as quickly (but safely) as possible. Just to get the point accross.

then again, if im in the 'Big Beastie' ill just sit right on their *** with the lights on full tip. they soon get the hint ;)

I tend to go for option C

I will sometimes see how many laps around them I can do before they get the hint and pull across into the inside lane. I have managed to complete 4 laps of one such muppet before they pulled over

how many people drive past and 'throw some shapes' at them??

This sounds like fun.

Option B, en route to Option C if they don't move, with a swift cut back in from C to the inside lane, perhaps accompanied by rear fogs.

done the correct thing and mirror signal manuver then as am going past give them the finger  and hurl some abuse lol

(A) or © depending on traffic, with an exagerated signal when going "over" them.

BTW, as long as there are other vehicles around in 2 of the 3 lanes, there's nothing wrong with going "under". The Highway Code

C but then sometimes they accelerate becuase you are driving a diesel*.

I used to get this occasionally, but it is more and more the case these days.

*I don't know the real reason bbut hey this one works.

I love to sit behind the likes of some of you driving past these mooops 'throwing shapes' and ranting at them as you do so.. definately makes me chuckle :):)
