Featured Replies

Any of you lot own an N73 or know of any major problems with them?

I don't want anyone telling me a want a sony etc, as I am only considering nokia for a reason :)

Thanks

I just got this for the other half, not out of the box yet though.

I have the k800i myself, why have you gone for the n73?

I dislike the SE interface, I have had Nokia phones for years, my current one is 6+ years old and before that they were reliable as anything.

Nokia have a wide range of repair centres and I know I can get spares as well as accessories from any mobile store.

I havn't gone for the N73 as yet, am just noseying to see what is what on the current nokias.

I just take out insurance incase it breaks or i loose it, why bother getting it repaired.

Nokia N73 review | Nokia N73 reviews by consumers | UK best buys give the N73 a real slating about instability, I have not owned a nokia since they got rid of the 6310i, it was all down hill from there imho :D

I have the N91, can reccomend it highly enough, the only downside i have found is it freezes up after sending a text message for around 25 seconds then goes back to normal, but i believe this is a trate through the Nokia Range.

having a metal cover makes it a little heavier, and the HDD in it too i assume, but its very strong, i have thrown it about many times by mistake :)

Orange have admitted to me that there are big problems with the entire N series of Nokias.

My mum has an N73 and i have a N80, both phones are relativly similar. The N80 was apparently plauged with problems, i have a few issues but nothing that really bothers me. Also bear in mind here that my phones goes everywhere with me, and working in site maintainance and is used as a radio all day when im on the yard, it lives in the side when im in the garage and takes all the rubbish thrown at it, it also takes many knocks and has dropped down the stairs, off the top of the fridge etc, and never suffered anything other than cosmetic damage. I have had Nokia smart phones for years starting with my 3650, which i still have incase of emergancy and in my opinion the N80 other than its technical advansments its just the same and i love it.

The N73 is my mums first Nokia smart phone, and other than struggeling initially with some of the menus and things she now really likes it. She even likes the camera (which she didnt really want at the time as she said she wouldnt use it). She has had no major issues with her phone either , not even the occasional reset that some of them sometimes seem to do.

My sister then has the SE W810i I dont like SE, so i am biased, she struggeld to find out how to do things and it seems to lack in features in comparison, but she is happy.

Hope all this helps you make your decission!

I've had a N73 on O2 for about three weeks now and don't have many probs with it really. Camera does seem good. Screen very bright. As with most of the smartphones, it does seem slow to do things sometimes. Like about 10 seconds from sliding open the camera cover to being able to actually use it! Can be annoying.

Other than that, seems ok really. I'm coming from a LG U880 so battery life is much improved, but that phone was really quick to respond which is the only thing I miss TBH.

Any more questions, shout.

Joe

Mark.. just bear in mind that the N-series are smart phones, and your probably more used to the series 40 phones... i tried to get used to a S60 "smartphone" a year or so ago and couldnt get used to it... the series 40phones are much nicer and simple to use. which is why ive still got me 6230i
