New Mitsubishi Lancer

Featured Replies

OK, so I'm not particularly interested in this model but it gives the strongest indication yet as to what the next EVO look like  . I have seen a picture in a magazine along side the new Scooby but I think they were photoshops!.

dont get me wrong its a nice car just not what a lancer should be like think it looks to family ish with a bit of aggression to it

looks pretty decent, far better than the older lancers i've seen

looks like those pictures of the concept evo x weren't too far off

Looks nice - very volvo-ish at the front with some Alfa 159 at the back.

More than a passing resemblance to the current octavia as well.

you make a very good point there mate

Ignore the grille at the front and see what you think

This is just the warm family hatch that will be marketed mostly in America, they have done it with the past few models out there, but i dont think ive ever seen one over here. Expect the evo to look like the pictures Mil has produced. The reason i say this is that with the Evo there are major cooling issues, so all the extra vents are definate requirements. Personally I think the new Evo if it ends up looking like that (and i think it probably will) will look awsome!!!

I think if it does look like the pics Mil has shown it'll look a lot nicer than the current model or the Impreza

That's taken in front of where I used to live - Dubai World Trade Centre Apartments (formerly the Hilton Apartments).

Looks better in these photos than the one at the top of the thread.

the one at the top of the thread is just a "regular" lancer, the other pics are of the concept-x/new evo

That looks something else!!!, I would seriously consider buying one if it looks like that, providing I can afford it of course. Mitsubishi have also got to increase the servicing schedules, currently at 4,500 miles makes it too unpractical/expensive :(

IIRC, the service every 4.5k is just the AYC oil change and if you get it done at an independent specialist won't cost very much at all :D

Yes the intervals are for diff hydralic fluid changes. These have to be strictly adhered to, especially if you like testing them reguarly, otherwise they fail and can cost anything upwards of £2000!! It only actually takes about 20 mins, but unfortunatly you need the kit to bleed the system through. So cost shouldnt be too much.

I was noseying through an old issue of Autocar (10/02/04) and in it they report that Mitsubishi confirmed both CZT and Evo Colts - shame we never saw the latter :(

New lancer looks pretty decent IMHO.

Yeah its not too shabby , certainly better than the current 'ordinary' Lancer which is deadly dull. Speaking as an ex Lancer owner (1.6 Glxi 16V - 1.8 GTi-16v - Evo II GSR) I'd like to see this new model do well , I've always though that Lancers were good cars , right back into the 80s , I always wanted a Lancer 2000 EX Turbo but only ever found one for sale locally , and I had just bought a Capri 280 Brooklands! I dont miss the running costs of the Evo tho , and mine didnt even have AYC fluid to change!!
