Things to get them to check @ MOT.

Featured Replies

My warrenty runs out january 15th so i thought id book my car in for an MOT early and have it checked out prior to this. Next Monday.

I have a squeeky radiator mount which ive mentioned to them to look at, unsure if its a warrenty issue though.

Is there anything else i should get them to have a look at, that could be a warrenty issue before it runs out ?

Octy vRS 53 Plate.

Usual suspects

brakes

tread

bulbs

headlight alignment

rust, etc (very unlikely)

I would be very surprised if it fails on anything

My tyre tread it is good, all bulbs are working, headlight alignment, leave it to the skoda boys if they are out.

Brake dics are 23.4mm front and 21.2mm rear, checked this morning. Front pads are 8mm rear are 5mm, so discs are on close to 23mm and 21mm minimum, but they said they will pass it if they are anything above min.

New discs and pads all round 1st thing new year is in the books anyway.

It's worth getting a VAG-COM check carried out too before the warranty expires. I say this from e xperience having far more than more than saved the cost of a Ross-Tech VAG-COM interface when I discovered just before the warranty expired that the Haldex ECU on my 4X4 was faulty.

Good thinking batman, metal note taken.

Cheers DGW

Rad mounts are expensive and should be fixed under warrenty.

Ask them to check the ARB bushes and IMHO get a full aircon service done before your warrenty goes so that you can get it fixed for free if anything is gone.

Pads & Shoes are consumables, not covered under warrenty, same as Tread & "Bulbs".

Car past the MOT smoothly.

New radiator mounts are on order and are being replaced under warrenty some time after xmas.

I was told the ARB Bushes are good and not to worry.

Cheers for the hints lads.

Top stuff mate. Briskoda Rules, OK

Had all my rad mounts replaced a couple of months ago under warranty.
