Everything But Rear ARB :P

Featured Replies

Hey, I've recently put upper front struct and springs and Dunlop front tyres (only because they needed changing) on my lil experimental toy and was wondering what else can i do with the car to make the handling a little better still..?

I was considering rear shocks or/and front lower arb however i've been searching many places and i cant really find any suitable for the little 1.4, found a lot of information about it on the vrs though but that doesnt help much (does it?).

Reason i dont want a rear arb is because i dont see how this steel bar is worth £200 simply. My tyres, struct (Seat OEM?) and springs (Weitec 35mm) cost under £170.

Is anyone else at the same stage as me where by running out of simple things to play and changing other things are getting expensive?

Oh and heres a piccy.. Yes its blue.... Going to attempt to put the Cupra R splitter on at xmas after sparying everything blue first and replacing the OEM grills on the bottom with the same silver grills above (might spray it black after as it might look a little ott/"in your face" i suspect). :) (P.S. Im looking for a suitable replacement for the badge NOT VRS as i HATE go fast stickers).

Thanks in advance :)

The rear ARB just changes the car competely. Well worth the 200!

A lot of development time's clearly gone into the rear ARB. As Shaun says, the difference is massive. You may think it's expensive, but you won't regret having it fitted. Simple as that.

You may also want to consider the 21mm front ARB from the vRS. It's the thickest OEM one available.

Get the roll bar. Its well worth £200 notes. Take into account they springs\dampers will cost around £400-£500 plus fitted and it doesnt come even close to the effect of the roll bar makes.

Funny, I remember when my car was in for remap at Jabba, they used mine to measure up and make the first one.....

They must have measured right cause they all fit :o

Def get a anti roll bar, and no offence but i think your grille looks a bit tacky and standard one colour coded would look alot better it think

Why dont you go for Bigger rims and wider tires? it'll make a big difference to the handling of your car and a great look too,

I have H&R springs, 17" rims with 225/35 tires on my 1.4 and it handles pretty well, the only thing i need is the struct brace to kill some understreer...

I do like the 17's on that i must say :D!!, and yeah i think mine likes to play a bit of understeer atm when pushed a tiny tiny bit... Suppose the rear arb would get rid of that but gah..! still a bit skeptical about the rear arb. Though i suppose rear shocks would cost nearly that amount. Guess it'll be bumped higher on list :P anyone have a rear arb going for spare..? ;)

struart_hatch: meh, none taken, I think its not great but i really dislike chrome placed into places without much thought and the OEM one is pretty much that imo but.. each to their own.

Does lower struct do much? i would've thought it would cost pennies as they're OEM on the vrs? (source from Wardy)

Said around

Spacers will reduce some of the Understeer too and they're very cheape :P

Im not sure about the lower struct though..

Guys....it's STRUT bar. Not Struct.
