New Tyres

Featured Replies

Right ladies and gents my Vrs is needing a new set of front tyres. Where do I begin to look?. I have been quoted

UK Car Tyres Online from Black Circles or Mytyres (Google it).

Tyres pretty much come down to personal preference. I've had mixed feelings about the same brand/model of tyre when replacing a worn tire with like for like. I've bought a brand I previously thought to be "**** hot" on an old car yet were a bit lacking on a different car.

If cost is your deciding factor, any rated tyre will pretty much do the job.

Imvho, you can do a lot better than the Conti's but some disagree :D Toyo T1-R's or Pirelli Pzero Nero's are popular.....

Cheers guys for the replies. Price is a little bit of a factor so maybe the Pirelli or Toyo's maybe worth a look. Thanks.

I have zz3's on the 968, and as most people who went to North Weald will agree they were a bit slippy!

Thanks TJ. 968 eh nice motor very understated in my opinion. I really liked the front engined Porsche' esp the later 944 S2. Strasse in Leeds had cracking 968 Sport in stock in blue which I really fancied. But the wife spoke and it passed me bye. Never mind enjoy your car:thumbup:

Cheers, I do try to enjoy it but sometimes just don't seem to use it enough!

As its been said before the zz3's may be completely different on the Fabia than they are on the 968! They were perfectly fine at Snetterton in the dry!

Got Kumho Ecstas on (as of 2 1/2 weeks ago) from mytyres and pretty impressed so far. v good value for money and the service from both mytyres and the local fitter was 1st class!

I've got Kumho's on the front and Conti's on the rear and they are both about the same to be honest. I priced up various michelin, pirelli's and all kinds of others and of the known quality brands, Conti's were the cheapest at about at about

Buster I also saw that site and wondered how things work regarding ordering the tyres through a courier and then having to find your own fitter to put them on?. Is this how it works?.

Replaced my Contis with Michelin Pilot Exalto's

They're expensive but.....Much better grip in the wet IMO. Seem to be wearing well too - 7k on and still look new

I got my Proxes from Event Tyres - mobile fitting, and not much more than the delivered cost from somewhere like mytyres. WAAAAAAYYYYYY cheaper than blackcircles.

They mainly do the Cheshire area AFAIK, but they might go as far as Leeds for you. I'd certainly recommend getting a quote from them!

Mytyres have a databae of local fitters and you can do a search on postcode. They deliver either to you or straight to the fitter. You call the fitter once you have an idea when they should be arriving and sort out a fitting date. Very hassle-free:thumbup:

My Kumhos were about 60quid a wheel, and the bridgestones about 75quid.

Thanks mate I'll give them a try.

Another vote here for Mytyres. I used them a few months ago for my Goodyear Eagle F1's. Came through very quickly and at a very good price. Used their fitter service too.
