Octy 1.9 TDI any good, is it a PD? Any mechanical issues?

I am also considering an Auto is diesel and auto a bad combo? What can a remap take power to from 90bhp standerd?

Also Honest John does not rate TDIs?

Real world first had experience appreciated!

90bhp is not PD. A remap might see 120bhp at most. The 100bhp/130bhp later models are PD. an auto box with a turbo diesel wouldn't be all that bad I reckon. Fractionally worse economy and performance stats.

Honest John's obviously never really bothered looking into it that hard. If you do lots of miles / long journies, TDI is best bet. Short journies make having a TDI pointless.

90 is non PD and also does not have the variable vane turbo charger which is fitted to the 110.

I don't know of any major reliability issues directly replated to the 90, but that isn't saying there are non, just that i don't own a 90 so don't know of any.
