got my eyes on one of these. obv not as much fun as the vrs. 600mpg..yes sir!!!

trq ---> 310-320

anyone driven one ? test drive at weekend for me

I was looking at one of these, however decided to go for the Skoda Octavia L&K instead.

Worked about the same in terms of money, however the Skoda was better equipped.

PLus I really really didn't like the idea of that E-brake! Was reading forums and peoples switches were faulty or broke and had to leave their car at traffic lights :eek:

Yes, I test drove one, and the Sport. Suggest you try them both. The SE was far too wallowy for me so I bought the Sport

Better kit on the Sport except for cruise which is missing, but standard on the SE. You can of course add the Sport's kit (including the suspension) to the SE.

Nice car, and much more room in the cabin than the Octavia - which is the main reason I didn't get an Octy 2 RS estate. (Oh, all Passats I drove were estates)

I drove the 1.6 petrol version, very nice car, comfortable etc. Everything you need from a car. The only thing I couldnt get to grips with was the handbrake. ie. their isnt one. the brake is a push button on the dash, push to engage and apply footbrake and push again to release. Its auto release function seemed to work when it felt like it.

I've had no problem with the brake auto-releasing, but it only does so if you have your seatbelt on, which is a bit of a pain if you're just shunting.

My wife tells me that it only auto-releases in first (and reverse). I haven't put this to the test yet, but then I don't try to get away from the lights in third

I had the 140 Tdi as a hire car for a week recently.

Was very impressed with quality, comfort and space. I haven't checked the price but I should think they're fairly expensive cars.

The only thing I didn't like was the electronic handbrake.

meant 600miles per tank. lol

it was the sport i will be looking at. not sure i like the sound of that e brake. sounds dodgy
