Hi guys

I wanted to get me one of them recent Lidl Bluetooth head units, so I decided after unsuccessfully looking for method of original removal to contact the Main dealer that sold car(06 Octy). No help, simply referred me to I C E ltd. Questions I asked were

a) As there is bluetooth settings on original Stream unit can this feature be "re-activated" and at what cost

B) How to remove original unit

I C E were no help either

Any info, guys , appreciated and I'll gladly wait the 6 months or so for a Lidl return

tnx in advance

I don't understand your question a, so possibly the dealer / ICE place didn't either...

B) is easily answered by going to vrsStu's website

The stream has a mobile phone input that should mute the stereo and output the phone through the speakers.

Several bluetooth units are available that can do this, parrot kits seem popular on here. TBH the sound quality of both calls and radio/cd I wouldnt think would be that great on a LIDL special.

Now that's what I call service...Many thanks for link...I,ll have to study it.. it's an age thing.

a) on the present hdu.there is settings for "phone volume on" and I'm 99% sure the word" bluetooth" comes on display, etc So I wondered if the present non bluetooth hdu could be upgraded to a bluetooth enabled without entirely replacing original...if you know what I mean.

Tnx again

Not too bothered about super quality....too old for anything except basic radio and occasional cd...mp3 would be nice thought. It was the phone connection I was after...Tried 2 different bluetooth ear pieces and 1 visor unit....not great results

I know what you mean, but I dont think the stream as standard supports bluetooth.

Ah right - okay, if you search these forums for mobile phone and bluetooth you'll soon find that the Bluetooth option isn't available in the UK, although it is available in other countries.

As such, I think it's best to assume you can't get it fitted in the UK. The Bluetooth "upgrade" is actually an upgrade to the "mobile phone handsfree kit" which also isn't popular in the UK, so even if you found a dealer willing to get the parts, it's going to get very expensive (especially when you add on fitting) for very little benefit once he has fitted and installed the mobile phone stuff and then added the Bluetooth kit on top.

Ok ! At least now I know it's a non - runner. Illl have to consider options / alternatives. As regards location, I'm probably at a further disadvantage....I'm not in UK.....I'm accross the "water"
