First I'd like to say you seem to have a good friendly community going on here, I'm proud to be joining it.

I've decided to take advantage of the zero interest deal on the Fabia vRS to replace my 2003 Audi A2 tdi 75 which is getting on for 80k now but still feels as tight as a drum with that quirky little three pot slinging you down the road:headbang:. I think it's a shame the A2 was so overlooked because in many ways it's about the most forward-thinking car on the road. I hear it's replacement will be aimed at competing with the Mini rather than being an out-and-out exercise in fuel economy...a shame IMO.

Anyway I'll fight through the tears:mecry: and look forward to taking collection of the Fabia on the 29th. One thing I'm a little concerned about is the interior. Is the grey portion very prone to damage? I tend to be pretty messy in the car and would like to avoid any potentially permanent damage. I have been considering fitting seatcovers and saw a pair on ebay but they seemed ill-fitting, as if they were for use in the service department. Does anybody have an alternative source?

First of all, hello and welcome.

With regard to seats, the cheapest option is some kind of fabric protection spray - search for Scothguard or SUPAGARD on Ebay.

Next step is general covers such as you have seen.

After that you could try made to measure ones such as Hatchbag - The Original Boot liner, Seat Covers, Pet Mats, Pet Aid, Odour Controller, dog guards, boot liner, boot liners, car boot liners, bootliner

Finally, there is a leather re-trim - available for about

Just out of interest - I assume you mean the Skoda ones. Did you go this route because they seemed a better quality than Seat Surgeons?

Yes Andy, Skoda supplied seat covers. Fitted by a trimming firm in Halifax and

very good quality.

Avoid wearing clothing with zips, studs apparently.

Great advice all round. The Leather seat covers from Skoda look particularly interesting. Do you order those from the service dept? Could anyone give me an approximation as regards the total fitted price? I'm hoping it's going to work out quite a bit cheaper than the stealer.
