dealer tuning-215bhp octy vRS

Featured Replies

hi all,

i was speaking to my dealer today about buying a fabia vRS. when he mentioned they had an octy vRS with 215bhp. he said it wouldnt affect my warranty and its a company that comes to the dealer upgrade it. I was finding out about the fabia and was in a rush so i didnt have anytime to find out more.

has anyone heard about this? what company it is?

I think that we need YOU to ask the dealer for the answer, kenny, since many of us would like to know too. It could be Revo.....but what is the point of guessing? I would take the commment about warranty not being affected with a big dose of salts, unless the dealer is offering to underwrite the upgrade rather than SkodaAuto UK who don't do such a thing.

A certain Manchester based tunner claim that a certain Manchester based dealer use their map and that it doesn't affect warrenty.

A copy of the wording of the SkodaAuto new vehicle warranty is below:

Any dealer offering a vehicle for sale with a remap which they claim does not affect the vehicle warranty should be asked to put that in writing as part of the contract of sale. Then, in the event that SkodaAuto UK rejects a warranty claim arising from that remap, the dealer will be legally obliged to provide the warranty they claim was unaffected by the remap. QED.

PS: Please let me know of any dealer prepared to do this.

PPS: AmD do offer a 3 year warranty on the module and 6 months warranty (12 on new vehicles) on engine, gearbox and differential of any TDi to which the Alpin performance upgrade (like a re-chip but in a separate 'plug-in unit') is fitted.

Many moons ago when I had Otka, my dealer said that they had ha visit from one of the Skoda Reps who told them that the vRS could be boosted to 220-230bhp with a simple remap. My dealer was going to tell me more once they found out from the rep (he was very cagey on it) but Otka and myself parted ways before I could gleen any furter info.

I suspect that there is the odd vRS kicking around with this kind of dealer tweak on it.

*weeps* Why Otka, Why!?

I miss her...
