Accessing the Rear washer Pipework?

Featured Replies

Following on from my previous problem with the wipers (fuse 15 blowing, I didn't realise there were two fuses for the front wipers!) I now have a leak from the Pipework in the boot, The Handle to close the boot lid is soaked and there is water on the boot ledge, plus I have no pressure in the rear washer (only a small amount of water is squirted out!).

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get the large plastic cover off so that I can access the pipework and hopefully fix the leak and give me back my rear washer!

I have had a go at yanking it on the edges but no luck, didn't want to break anything!

Failing this I have to wait til Thursday for the Local dealer to re-open....

Thanks

Tom

Start near the latch and get your fingers under the lip of the cover and give it a sharp pull. Use gloves as it's pretty sharp and requires quite a pull to get the clips to let go. Once they start to go it gets easier. Fit a tie wrap or small pipe clip to the pipe when you refit it. Hope that helps :)

Cheers I was trying that with Bare hands and it did start to hurt, I will give it another go tomorrow!

Thanks

Tom

it will especially tight to get off , due to the cold weather

a screwdriver wrapped with masking tape might be handy for extra leverage

to get the trim off properly you should also remove the trim from around the rear window first as this sits over the lower trim

Yep, as above, i checked mine the other week and the fluid seemed to be comming out where the pipe connected to the actual washer thing in the boot, tried pushing it on harder, but made no differnce, anyone got any tips?
