Is the Mk1 Octavia still being made?

Featured Replies

Hey all

I saw a brand spanker 56 Plate Octy SDi taxi today , and was just wondering if they are still in production?...and if so , are they only availible to Taxi firms? Or is there a compound somewhere stuffed with old Octy SDis that were made 2+ years ago?

Oh-and a Merry Christmas to all Briskoda members , from foggy North Northumberland!

I've seen a 56 plate taxi as well but they are probably just clearing out the last of the stock.

I've seen a couple of people mentioning spec oddities on these cars. There was one about a Classic that came with climate control for example , so it may have been a case of using up whatever parts they had in the factory

I thought that the MkI was still being manufactured not necessarilly for the European market but for India, I could be wrong though.

Is that still in the Czech factory , or do they have one elsewhere in the world as well?

India are still getting the mk1 new. Have a look at the skoda india website.

They are made in India, at the only production facility outside europe. The plant is a Shendra, on the outskirts of Aurangabad.

MK1 are still available as a Taxi spec according to my dealer in hatch and estate and they come with climate.

We can still buy MK1 Octy`s from new here in Denmark.

So can Joe Public order a taxi spec Mk1?

You can still buy one in any dealer afaik. They're now known as the "Tour" model range

Hmm wonder how cheap they are now...

Thinking new MK1 PD130 (if they do it) as opposed to a MK2 PD140

Pd 130 estate would be a good buy

Taxi spec will be Sdi non turbo 65PS i reckon.....

I saw a white 06 plate Mk1 taxi yesterday. No engine specification under the Octy badge on the rear, which was odd. They usually say "TDi", "20v turbo" etc. Didn't get a chance to see the trim spec badge on the front wing. Did have a big floppy aerial though
