Fabia Vrs suspension...

Featured Replies

Going to get myself some new springs for the fabia as i cant justify spending a lot of cash on coilovers! What do you recommend? or am i right in thinking you can only get the 25mm drop eibach springs ? Dave

I think there are other (cheaper) alternatives. But I reckon 99% of the members here will suggest the Eibachs.

I've got them sitting in a box until I can get some Koni FSD's to go with them. Are you looking at springs only or new shocks?

I think im just going to get springs and use original shocks. See how that goes for me and then maybe uprate shocks when i have more money....

Hi

Springs are good on their own as long as the shockers are not done in to start with

Around 40 - 60k miles , I would reccomend doing shocks at the same time

Yes Eibach have to be the best and if you are doing just the springs , it would be advisable to use the best

Koni do a good range that are cheaper if you need something cheaper

Let me know if you want some prices and I can get them for you

Sarah

My car is on 46k now, 32k with just the eibach's fitted i.e. no uprated shocks and the car is fine, when the shocks eventually go i'll upgrade them but I really don't see the point right now.

P.S. Probably covered 1 million times but is there any difference between Koni FSD's and Koni Adjustable's or is it just an abbreviation so to speak?

Ta, Chris.

It really depends if you're looking to improve the handling without compromising ride quality or looking to "slam" the car? I'd vote for the Eibachs every time and after being out in cars with and without Eibach dampers, I'd definitely recommend uprated dampers too :D

Remember, if you're DIY'ing it won't be a problem but you'll have double the labour cost if you do springs now and then dampers later.....

Chris

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the adjustables are the Koni yellows that everyone knows (the ones with the white plastic tool to dial in the rebound).

FSDs are Koni's new funky shock absorber technology that gives a comfortable ride over small bumps but when you start to give it some they stiffen up. The best of both worlds according to their marketing :)

Yep that's right, the "adjustables" are .... er .... adjustable, and the FSD's are "self-adjusting". :D

Chris

And from having Koni yellows in the past on a previous car, they start firm and go even firmer - great for the track, but I'm getting used to having my first comfortable car for a long time :D

The Fabia vRS is comfortable? That's definately news to me, especially over pot holes and speed bumps! :)

Although as mentioned, mine only has the springs fitted.

What's the pricing on these FSD's for future reference?

Ok... compared to a Corsa on FK coilovers :P

Hey , I could not have put that better myself if I tried

Nice one

Sarah

Would you have used the word "funky" too? :P

I've found somewhere quoting 350 delivered. I think they're between that and 400 depending on where you look.

I may even be able to afford them by march! ha ha ha. I hate my life.

Hi

Where is that from?

Ours are

How much are they fitted to a vRS Sarah?

Alex.

Fitting with us would be £167.50 + VAT and that includes the geo set up

The FSD`s are fantastic and a few on here have done them , it is something that I will have on my car when it needs them

Fantastic , "Awesome" what else can you say?

£322.00 + VAT we do them for , but I do know that KOni are putting their prices up soon

Sorry

Sarah
