where and when did you get it from??

Game haven't got any in any stores or online according to the website, with no dates for getting new stock

If you're truly desperate, i've got one here with Zelda and Sonic (downloaded classic)

pm to start negotiations

It's second hand , so it should be worth less than it cost new then?

;)

Have you looked on eBay at all ? Apparently according to a story in the Daily Mirror, kids who had them for Christmas presents were putting them straight onto eBay for sale with prices up to

Woolworths :)

Woolworths :)

must have been before christmas surely?

Wii's are awesome.

They have a beta of the internet channel on them too... based on a opera browser.. it even supports flash, so google vids/youtube works on it

Dont buy one for more then retail. There's really no need. Shops are getting stock in all the time. Before christmas it was all about being in the right place at the right time to get one.

I managed to get one off amazon before christmas without a pre-order.

Just check amazon, woolworths, toysrus, game, gameplay and comet etc websites regularly and you'll bag one in no time.

Alternatively keep an eye on AV Forums Home. They have a section in their forums for nintendo wii and people who are looking for them post within seconds of finding stock somewhere. Thats how I knew about amazon.

If people werent buying them specifically for putting on ebay there wouldnt have been a shortage in the first place.

By the way the machine is awesome.

With woolworths I ordered one, it was pre-allocated stock but due to some delivery problems it was delayed a bit. I was still guaranteed pre-Christmas though, so I ordered it at the time.

I'm gonna be setting it up as soon as SWMBO returns from her shopping exercises, bought a second controller so it will be interesting so see how good/bad we are at Wii gaming

:iagree:

Had my mum round yesterday and she was on Wii sports all afternoon.. completely hooked.. asking how much the console is and what you get with it etc...

Ho-Ho-Ho.

If you want to buck the common supply-demand market model, then just place an order down at your choice of retailer, sit back and wait a month:rolleyes:

Hehehe , don't blame you. I certainly wouldn't sell it at a loss either.

If I was determined to have one now at all costs I'd consider buying on ebay though not at the really daft prices.

As it happens though there aren't any games I want to play on it yet. Once they come out (things with the word Mario in the title perhaps) then I'll buy one and at this point they'll be in the shops with no need to wait.

Oh , and as has been said there are stocks arriving on a regular basis and if you make the effort to keep looking you will find them.

Well, the bundled Wii Sports is good for casual amusement, I've racked up over 14 hours on Zelda so far and the copy of Red Steel that has ended up in my hands look interesting.....

It looks quite cool, apart from the gay sensor thing you have put over the top of your TV (that they don't show you in the ad) to make it work and that the batteries in the handset don't last 5 minutes, plus it aint HD compatiable........D'oh!

I'd wait for a PS3 personally, I have my preorder already in :)

I've managed to hide the sensor bar underneath my center speaker, so that bit doesn't worry me.

SWMBO enjoyed playing with the Wii and I mainly bought it for her, we played it together for a good 3 hours today. I turned off the rumble stuff which should help a fair amount with battery life.

Definitely will be using rechargeable batteries though as I don't like buying normal ones ;)

Got a few more games on order, got Zelda already & the sports & play ones. Not played Zelda yet but the sports one was a fair bit of fun :)

Not had any probs with batteries so far after hours and hours of play.

You can buy a component cable for it to improve on the crap composite connector it comes with.

I bought component cables for both my Gamecube and PS2... well worth it

The only console i would by is the Wii.

The xbox and the ps3 simply cannot match a decent PC for games anyway so the Wii is the only one for me.:)

Any updates on where i might get one of these now xmas is out the way ???

I managed to buy one of these today from John Lewis online, will arrive tomorrow :)

My Wii arrived on Wed and since then I've been undecided on keeping it or returning for a refund. I'm enjoying it but cannot decide if i'm likely to use it after the first month or so. Having said that, every time I switch it on to try make my mind up I end up losing 2 hours of my day playing boxing, golf and ten pin bowling :D

Lots of shops locally had the Wii in stock today.

You'd have thought on a new controller design that they could have included a battery pack and maybe a dock to charge the controllers up? Does the Wii have USB connections or anything on it, like the PS2? They could have again provided a battery pack and a controller -> USB cable for charging, something like that.

Seems a bit of a shame - console still looks ace though  - tempted, certainly.

The sensor bar is tiny - I can't see why anyone without an OCD would find it troubling. I'm still on my first set of handset batteries, and I had mine the day before release.

And as for HD, for years in the PC vs console debates the console owners would disparage the higher resolutions that the PC offered with cries of "It's the gameplay that matters!". Using the opposite argument to bash the Wii (which is the most fun console I've ever used) is hilariously ironic.

I do agree that a built-in rechargeable battery would have been cool, but not cool enough to pay extra for.
