Fitting b-pillar trim kit

Featured Replies

Come the warmer weather, I really want to fit one of the official Skoda b-pillar trim kits but a search of threads on the subject seems to imply they are a bit of a b****r to apply. Does anyone have any tips for a successful application? Presumably the plastic trim strips along the bottom edges of the windows have to be removed? Is this fairly straightforward to do, do they just pull upwards? Equally importantly, do they go back again easily without looking uneven?

I think these trims really transform the look of the car, especially the light colours, and am surprised they're not factory applied, at least to Elegance and vRS models (as they did on the upmarket Felicias), but I suppose there is more profit in keeping such things aftermarket.

I fitted mine in midsummer, so the plastic was nice and pliable.

They aren't difficult to apply, but you only get one chance - the glue is uber-sticky!

The window bottom rubbers lift vertically upwards. Use a ruler or similar thin straightedge to lift them in one piece (then they'll go back easily without showing they have been moved). Also the thin black trims round the vertical panels need easing away from the metal so you can fold the trim kit round the pillar. If you get air bubbles, ***** them with a needle to let the air out and rub the bump down.

Well worth the effort - one of the most cost-effective appearence mods you can do.

I'd Imagine these would look great when combined with tinted windows!

Anyone got any pics of this done to a yellow vRS? Bryand?

Will these do?
Will these do?

Oh yeah, wasn't sure I'd like it but that is pure sex . Looks amazing. You can buy the stuff from the dealer?

Yes, the kit is part KGA 410 001 for hatchback Fabias and KGA 420 001 for estates.

Yep, Bryand's pics confirm it, black pillars are the business:thumbup:
