Hi Folks, bought my black Fabia VRS in August and I cannot believe how much fun it has brought back into motoring. I am not a boy racer more of a silver racer but this thing is real fun. One query, can anyone advise on tyre noise? mine is on Bridgestones and I have been told that you can obtain quieter tyres but sacrifice grip or wear, any ideas out there?

Bets wishes for the new year and glad to be a member of this gang.

Welcome John :wavey:

I've always sacrificed noise for grip, so won't be able to help ;) But I'm sure someone will be able to attend to you shortly... :)

Chris

hi and welcome ,anything other than Bridgestones will be quieter , LOL , Contis are IMO cr4p , Michelins are good for longevity ,my rears are on about 38k , but some say they are noisy also , Toyos are very good for grip , have a look in the Fabia forum at the tyre thread

Hello,

Tagged onto back of one of your posts before. Also a 'silver' racer at 54.

I too have been looking at tyres as my vRS fronts will soon need replacing.

Found this site which has a user survey database as to tyre qualities

Pneus-Online: car tyres online, motorcycle tyres, SUV tyres, new tyres for a flat price

More specifically :-

Tyre summer : tyre selling summer any brand

As a result I think I'm going for the Hankook Vertus (seem to have everything going for them + rim protection + they are not directional - but snow grip is v.poor, not hat we get much these days) available from mytyres.co.uk

Tyres for PASSENGER CARs very cheap, bargains, have a look and save
