rear brake upgrade for vrs

Featured Replies

all,

just had the car MOT'd & it seems the rear disks & pads have seen better days. I already have the 312 upgrade on the front. Was wondering what my options are as regards uprgading the rears from 232 solid disks to maybe 256 vented jobbies off a audi tt.

!. does anyway have any experience of doing this upgrade?

2. what would i need, disks, pads, backing plates, calipers?

3. is there another type of upgrade that I should be looking at?

4. is it worth be spending the extra in terms of the benefit to the braking?

any other suggestions or thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreicated.

cheers

G.

why are the rear pads and discs needed ?

if its because they are badly rusted/pitted and not because they are wore down, i would suggest that you dont really need a rear brake upgrade as the original brakes were hardly doing any work anyway so there will be no point in putting bigger/better ones on

a new set of standard size with maybe upgraded pads would be sufficient IMO

any other suggestions or thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreicated.

A search maybe? Pretty well covered previously.

General opinion is rears do naff all anyway, not much need for anything bigger.

thanks all for your comments...

I guess some new disks & pads need to ordered in the new year.
