Well you know me, nothing easy like a .

I have a plan in hatching, deep down in the back of my mind, okay so it's not that far down.

But loose headunit and only have essentially stero jack out from a soundcard.

Can anybody recommend a good amp (perhaps from our fave ICE depot ;) ) that would take a stero (not fussed about 5.1, lol it's the car you know) output and do it justice?

Secondly, anybody happen to have a lillyput 7" touch screen going begging?

Thirdly, anybody have a central console going spare?

Colin... as for a plain LCD screen... best bet is to buy one of those portable things for either the gamecube, or psone.. they are only 5.5" iirc.. but they take 12v and a composite input. - apparently the sony one is the best quality, its not touch screen, but it costs under 100 notes from your favorite game store/hmv etc.

I believe Ian has an old Pioneer one which, while not boasting stupid power figures, has amazing quality output...and I've got a 3.5mm->RCA phone cable if you want... :)

@Colin, don't worry re screen thats sort of already designed into the paper plan...

@Rob, Will have to twist his arm for that then...doubt I want stupid power, just enough to power RS speakers to at least stock HU volume, yet retain some clairty...speaker quality aside.

Might twist your arm Rob for some cabling advice etc oh and a little time one *warm* evening to carpet removal ;)

Oh.. probably not needed.. but the Pioneer DEH77MP also has a auxillery input. ;)

Well, actually, the amp Ian's got is still technically owned by me... :D

Let me know when you need help, the cold doesn't bother me so long as it's not windy and no one takes the p!ss out of my big coat... ;)

Now you mention it...I was going to ask about that coat :D

Still have to order and bench test the cunning plan...then hack dsh into a thousand bits...

Happen to know if a "DIN" unit is the same width as it is in the States?

Just checking I'd be bloody surprised if it differed that much in width...

Nooo...the big coat...a la Bibendum... :D

AFAIK, DIN is a standard, so it has to be the same size. Double DIN, however, is not a standard, and so can be any size...
