Briskoda members competing in motor sports

Featured Replies

I know there are a few of us on here involved in motor sports so thought I'd start a thread on what you compete in.

I'm competing in the ANWCC stage rally championship this year as a co driver in a 1340 mini (when the engine is rebuilt).

I'll also be competing in the ANWCC Production Car Trial championship in a MK2 Golf.

Mini's are awesome :D

this is what i used to compete with , sold it nearly 6 years ago and still regret it occasionally , saw the car recently at an Oulton Park track day , still in very good condition

I don't compete but can usually been found at the Harewood Hillclimb, dressed in orange, clearing up when the competitors get it wrong.

Should hopefully be doing some days at Cadwell this year as well.

i used to do a bit of hillclimbing, but i cant find the time to do it anymore

I was comperting up at hearwood with a french spec 205 rally, until my dad severly compacted it on the road. This year i will mostly be found working on this little mini at hillclimbs and sprints around the north of the country.

was that pic taken at 3 Sisters ?

Yes thats 3 sisters in 2004, mechanically it has changed a good bit since though.

I think Andy is doing some sprint this year in the mini but he doesn't mention his driving in public

We did one of the sprints and three sisters, scamonden dam hill climb and then blew the diff at Thoresby sprinting.

Sprinting is a good way of testing the car and trying different set ups as the circuit doesn't change compared to a rally stage.

I'm probably going to do some sprints in the Golf this year.

Do they still do hill climbs at Scammonden?

I used to go with my dad many moons ago.

Yes it's still being used although they were struggling for numbers when we competed there and weren't sure how long it would remain going. It's a cracking little venue.

Thanks for that.

I will have to keep my eye out for any forthcoming events, as it's only 10 minutes from home.

Ahhhhhh...so that's what happens at scammonden, i drove past a while back and wondered what the hell was going on.

We should get a skoda meet going on at the next event

and then blew the diff at Thoresby sprinting.

i've done a sprint at Thoresby , cracking course , also very good catering , roast pork and roast beef barms , certainly better than burgers

Loton park hill climb also good venue , both for course and food:thumbup:
