Favia Alternatives

Featured Replies

Other than the Grande Punto 130tdi, does anyone know of any Fabia vRS alternatives. Looking for similar price, performance and mpg.

This is a new buy and I will not consider second hand - so no old beamers or whatever...

Thanks

Edit: Should say Fabia...

Polo TDi Sport, Ibiza? Fair bit more expensive...

Thats about it...

What about a Suzuki Swift?

You will be the first on here to have a MK2 Fabia lookalike....

Seat Ibiza 130PD FR or sport

Mitsub colt diesel thingy..........sorry cant remember the engine size :o

Suzuki Swift Sport? Citroen C2 VTS? New Corsa? Fiesta ST?

How about the funky new Corsa SXi 1.7 CDTi (125 BHP). Think its about £12,500 and look great IMO.

The Fiesta and the Corsa might be worth a nosey I guess...

Any other ideas? Is the Smart Roadster Still available as a new car?

closest 'cousin' would be the Seat or the VW.. Suzuki Swift is a nice little pokey motor... Corsa's are as they always were a bag of shyte..

See the Suzuki Swift keeps getting mentioned. I used to have an N plate GTi years ago, and compared to the many VW's I've owned it felt very very cheap. Don't get me wrong it was a great car, very nippy and everything worked as it should and never had any problems with it till I ran into the back of a Corsa and wrote it off :o

Not sure whether any will be "factory new" now, but there seems to be quite a bit of stock about and there's a Finale model advertised on the smart website...

there are loads of options out there, just have a look around on whatcar etc and take them for a test drive, personally i would go with something such as a polo gt or ibiza cupra but there are loads of options out there mate.

Is there a reason you're not going for another Fabia? or is it just a change?

Suzuki Swift seems to get good write ups , Tiff Needall said it was very good in the test drive on FifthGear , and it even appears in the EVO car of the year mega test

Definitely go for the 1 series BMW or Mini - Depreciation wise - Its the most sensible choice

I'll be test driving the punto 130 in the near future... I'll write it up in the reviews section :)

isn't the Fiat also available with 4 years interest free credit at the mo

The Grande Punto has to be one of the most disappointing cars I've driven...I wanted to like it, but other than the comfort of the seats I found little good about it...

I loked at the Grande Puno as well, but was not happy with the huge blind spot caused by the sloping A-pillars and the lowish roofline. This was the same reason I rejected the Seat Leon and Fiat Panda as a possible purchase. These cars are in my opinion dangerous.

It might actually be 5 years , I'm sure I saw that on TV over Xmas. I dont know the details though , ie how much deposit , or which models are included.

I've done several thousand miles in a 1 series and really not a fan. Mini's a bit :gay: for me - just don't like the look or the fact that everyone and his dog has one!

Ste - does it have to be diesel?

If it does, I can't think of that many small 'sporty' diesels, other than the ones already listed above.

You're looking for a car of a similar size to the Fabia, upto 12k new. Is that about the mark of it?
