Oh-oh!

Featured Replies

Should be a few units trickling through from me soon. Most of my FAH systems were switched off for various periods over Chrimbo.

Had to turn folding off the domain server i had running over xmas :(

thinking about installing the service on a few/as many work pc's as i can get away with about 10-20

any tips on whats the highest i can set the cpu usage at without users really noticing

ive set my laptop at 50% and cant really tell the difference but it has only done 1% in about 24 hours

TBH I wouldnt run it on business critical systems like say an email server and/or domain controller. A file server is usually no big deal, dbase server would be a no-go either (imho).

I run a couple limitied to 50%, but the others are flat out. I have a couple of desktops that are running flatout and the users dont notice.

File/print servers are ok, just avoid database (SQL etc.), Exchange and the main DC. I run FAH quiet happilly on the internal IIS server, the dormant node of a cluster and a few others without issues.

We also really need to have more folders, the number of active members has been falling back again.

"More Folding power Scotty!" "She cannay take any more cap'n!"

Like those of us that are active folders, I can't really do any more.:( I have a few at 80-100%, running the graphical version, for easier control over the percentage. However, most of the machines I have it on are console versions running at 50%, so as not to interfere with the users.;) Might need to crank them up a little bit somehow, need to re-read the guides on how to alter the settings.

Need......more......folding.....power......

Anybody running p1487_DPPC_DOPC_CHOL by any chance?

1161 points for the lucky folder that does

Most of my machines atm are crunching fairly large units.. so my daily average has dropped right off :-/

I did have a pretty good run last month though..

Month Points WUs

12.06 11,320 48

11.06 9,147 43

10.06 11,996 47

I don't have any more machines I can add now or for the foreseeable future either... Although one of them may get upgraded if i get around to buying the mobo I need for the job.

Crunched a couple of them I think, certainly had a >1000 point unit.

still working on those pesky ones that takes days to complete but are worth less than 400 points each - in fact, I've only had one of p2126_villin_sigd3, or p2125_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011, or p2124_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011 on my pcs for the last month!

Wish I could block em... my daily average is WAY down cos of em :( :(

You can block it from downloading units in excess of 5mb, but not sure if that would help.

Unfortunately we've just had to re-image(corporate image) all of our machines before the end of december, and so thats why my wu rates have fallen for now. will re-install when i have chance and maybe on a far bigger scale now ;)

I've added a few more machines over the last few days. Results should be coming up shortly, maybe...

Trend line is still pointing down, with a few low days not helping that.:(

Nice to see the inactive users below 70% though.
