Trip meter re-setting itself

Featured Replies

My Mk1 Octy Vrs has developed a habit where when left locked overnight or at work all day, when I start the car I notice that the trip meter has reset itself ( distance covered , average MPG and time taken) any ideas anybody?

This is automatic on my Fabia - trip 1 resets after 'a while', overnight definitely would.

The trip 2 shouldn't do this, of the top of my head, but I've got a Fabia not Octavia so there may be subtle differences

As has been said , the trip1 counters reset after 2 hours turned off.

The trip2 will do the last 999 miles or until it's reset manually

Yep, as above. There are 2 trip computers, you can toggle between them by briefly pressing the reset button. Trip 1 resets after 2 hrs with the ignition off, trip 2 doesnt. :)

Press the reset button ever so briefly. You have accidentally switched between the 2 trip computers! :)

Thanks again:thumbup:
