How Much Will A Dealer Give Me?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of selling my car back to Skoda, anyone with a copy of Glass's know roughly how much I'm likely to get?

It's an 05-05 Fabia vRS in Red with Cruise & Autochanger. 31k miles.

As per usual with my posts if you don't know please don't just throw in an opinion - I'm looking for some numbers based on fact! :P

Thanks in advance

Steve.

According to Glass' (and not taking into account cruise and autochanger):

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition:

£8660

Average condition:

£7880

Below average condition:

£6940

Chris

Cruise adds nothing to the trade in with Glasses.

I'll have a look in CAP when I get home too.

On the autotrader for a personal sale they seem to be higher priced. These all have around 7-10k on the clock. so less a bit on the price.

£9,750, £9,950, £9,995

I just got somebody a change from a 3 year old Furby VRS in red, to a new 56 VRS for shy of £3k so if you work on that basis about 8.5k for the car seems about right on a part ex deal.

It's a straight sale, not a part ex.

Edit: Thanks by the way

Ooh, we got Glass' guide here? Can anyone help me out with a rough valuation (trade in on possibly a Golf or new diesel vRS) on my car:

March 04 Octavia TDi (130) Elegance

33K miles

cruise control

lady beepers (rear parking sensors)

full service history

Black Magic and unmarked.

Usual Elegance stuff, heated mirrors, leccy roof etc

Thanks in advance!

Dave.

Free valuations here , but they don't cover your car.

Vauxhall - Error

If it's a straight sale back to a dealer - I'd say 'Ouch'.

I think they'll insult you and your intelligence - badly.

According to What Car (via Autotrader)

31,000 miles 05 (no mention of extras)

Prices

Dealer

With a straight sale you'll probably be offered around £7.5k, maybe a bit less. This is not based on fact, just my opinion.

31000 miles in a year, they are not investments.

That sounds exactly my dads old car, other than his was an estate and silver, and also had cruise and parking sensor options too. It did have a couple of bumper scuffs from idiots hitting it trying to park at Glasgow Uni. He sold it back to the dealer about 6 months ago and got

Offered 8100 with 4 tyres due and a cracked foglamp lens.

Hmmmm....

For what it's worth -

I'd say that's quite a good price. I thought they'd truly insult you.

Obviously, they'll tyre it up (

Seconded :)

I'd take that if I were you too.

You may find that they've had an enquiry from a potential purchaser of a car like yous and think they can turn it round quickly.

Seconded :)

Thirded:)

I love the noise the Exhaust pack makes on the smart models.

I was really impressed on the test drive. Not as quick as the vRS but 1,000,000% more fun  The wastegates really chatter on the gearchanges too which is kinda cool. Drifting off roundabouts with the ESP turned off

The gearchange isn't the best but having spent time in an FTO a while back I got used to tiptronic boxes - just like driving a manual, blip on a downchange and lift on an upchange and you're sorted.

Can't wait :D

Good choice, Steve - looking forward to a full review of the Smart

You'll get one too

Just cos I'm ditching the Skoda doesn't mean you're getting rid of me! :D
