Allofmp3.com payment problems

Featured Replies

Is anyone else having this problem? I've tried to refill my balance using a credit card like last time and a message is coming up saying paying this way is not available at the moment, it's been like this since I first tried at Christmas. I'm not sure about using their other payment options, all tunes or Xfrost I think.

I haven't tried ...but my son has and he couldn't add credit :(

I emailed them and they replied asking me to use that other payment service they offer so it didn't seem to be a short term thing.

Both Visa and Mastercard have blocked people from using their cards to pay at allofmp3.com , because it isn't even remotely legal.

They don't have any authority to sell the music that they do , and the russian copyright authority that they claim licences them has no legal status and doesn't pay any royalties to the artists concerned.

Basically it's as legal as buying a pirate cd from the bloke down the market.

You can still pay by credit card (mastercard only). They used to use chronopay, and some links on their website still point to that portal. The chronopay links only allow amex and diners club cards. To pay by mastercard you need to find the link that points to a russian payment portal. This portal accepts payments via mastercard without problems, I did mine the other day.

To pay this way, click on refill balance as normal, then on the next screen click on the alltunes link and ignore all the others. Login to alltunes using your allofmp3 username and password. Use the topup link through there and pay by credit card. This redirects to e-centru.com, and works fine.

I've used the XROST payment system - it seems fine...and is trusted by BT so should be pukka...

If you're going to have pirated music, why pay for it? I don't get Allofmp3 users at all

Dave.

"Allofmp3.com's activity is quite legitimate," said Roms general director Oleg Nezus.

"The opinion of foreign copyright owners is just that - their opinion," he told BBC Russian.com

Yep I can't see the record companies winning this one some how, after all its not as if russia gives a **** what western recordcompanies think.

Stoopid Allofmp3.com

I have tried to use their payment option of alltunes seeing as my usual way of paying by CC is not available. When I log into alltunes and click on purchasing a pin code it takes me to a site to put in my CC details. The details required include the phone number for my bank  and the card type select box only says JCB

I'm not happy about paying this way and I know someone else who has tried to help me this evening paid ok by credit card without doing alltunes. I did think it could be because the card they have on file on the allofmp3 site is a Visa. i would try and change the card details to a Mastercard but can't find anywhere on the website that allows me to do this.

Because you can download the music in a lossless format or high quality MP3 for much less than it costs to buy the CD.

:finger: to iTunes and 128kbps rubbish.

That said, since the Visa/Mastercard thing, I've not used All of MP3.

Think the point is that it's not a legal service anyway, so you're paying for "stolen" music. As such, why not just use P2P and get it totally free and no less legally?

To draw a comparison, if you're going to buy a nicked car stereo from a dodgy guy down the pub, why not cut out the middleman and save yourself a few quid by going and nicking one yourself? :)

I can do that from any number of illegal sites for zero cost.

Why pay a bunch of Russians who aren't legally selling music.

Just because they charge you doesn't make them legit

Thanks Rob, that was exactly my point further up the thread

Pixi - did you find a way to get some more credit?

I'm having the same problems as you.

I read some of the blogs on their site last night and it seems the pressure has been put on the CC companies to pull out of the service. If you have a JCB CC then you can use that to pay via alltunes. Failing that, some people are making a mint on ebay selling gift certificate codes as all you do is enter the code and top up your balance.

I have now turned my back on allofmp3 and have gone down a different route but not file sharing. I've registered to another site but not paid any money yet.
