Digital Camera Issues! Any help please?

Featured Replies

What does it mean when odd colours and lights start messing up on your digital camera. Mine started taking shots like the below during daylight hours without the flash on - It didn't do it's usual "click" - instead went silent and this happened. Love the colours it makes some cars though!

Indoors with the flash on, and it worked fine - and "sometimes" it did OK during the day too. Camera fooked?

Is it a compact Canon?

Its a compact - NIkon Coolpix - quite dated, but I like the way the lens kind of folds out and can be positioned at any angle. Good for getting shots of totty at car shows over the crowd, but still being able to see what the lens sees. :D;)

If its the Coolpix 990 995 or 4500? Could be the exposure compensation have been set wrong? The 'scene' mode is set to something innapproiate? Might be worth going through the various menus to see if somethings altered.

Could be just knackered.

The scene mode is always set to off, and flash is usually set to auto unless I want some kind of moody night time long exposure shot. It only started doing it last night. Not sure which coolpix it is though. Its blue and silver and the lens flips through more than 180 degrees to do self portrait shots as well. :)

Its the 2500 :)

Could either be exposure settings are not correct or the camera is fooked :D

Well, I've just taken about 10 photos of a can of lynx, and I can't get it to replicate the symptoms. Was definitely something it only did outside with settings set to auto. I'll persevere. Really grown to like this camera despite its relatively dated technology. Its usefulness/size outweighs it's low megapixel rating.
