Has anyone changed the carpet in their vRS?

Featured Replies

I'm contemplating changing the cream carpet in my vRS for a black one. I would keep the cream carpet to replace should I come to sell the car but just wondered what it looks like with the silver seats/door cards? I'm so sick of cleaning the carpet in the drivers foot well. :(

Yes, quite a few have. The black carpet is a straight swap, about 2 hrs to fit and circa £100 IIRC. Looks 100x better, and should have been like it from standard imho.

Yes, Huck did and I'm sure he posted some photos.

I've had it done, cost around £200 at the stealers, looks 100% better. My only gripe was the dealer made a hash of fitting them (damaging a lot of the plastic trim etc) but I reckon it was well worth the money.

Thanks people! I did a search and found pictures of Hucks carpet. I'm happy (would actrually prefer) to fit it myself so I'll phone and get a price for supply only. Thanks again.

Did this with my vRS estate too, looked loads better as the carpet matched the boot carpet, which you can always see in the estate.

Was well worth the

I think this is something I will get done in my vRS, the cost is not so bad.

any one got a part number for the carpet ? Whats used to fix it down ?

I don't think its fixed down, more just well fitted and clipped in under the sill trims, accelerater pedal stop etc. :)

It would be a seats-out job to do though, and you should replace the seat bolts also, as these are one use only. (I have a set anyone is welcome to for a fiver posted ;) )

I think I'll ask my dealer about this when it's in for servicing next week and see what they quote -

Mines an ex police so its filthy, even the seats have gone filthy so a full valet come summertime is on the cards and I might even do the carpet as well if I can find a picture.
