1.8t in Leon and Octavia?

Featured Replies

Ah right, thats interesting. ive only ever driven the 225 Cupra R. Would of assumed there would of been a noticable amount of performance difference between the two, but obvioulsy not

Feeling 15hp between two cars is quite impossible. The most you'll notice is probably sharper acceleration.. or that possible slight aggression in the middle range.

It's just that you questioned the Brembo's (LCR's brakes) Which there one of the best brakes around for a hot hatch.

that may be the case now but they certainly weren't the best brakes on the coupe and that was with red dot discs and pads. They've probably improved them since then though, bigger pistons or something...

bhp is evident at the top of the rev range, the 15bhp will make it pull harder to the red line, but as snoopie says I doubt you'd notice the difference, unless the two cars were side by side.

15hp, is the difference between Driver.

Doesnt the coupe run 308mm discs? if so they are alot smaller than the LCR brembos.

they were 305mm if I remember correctly, I assume the lcr is 312mm ? I remember seeing my mates rs focus next to the coupe and thinking the calipers were slightly bigger but I may have imagined it.

just out of interest is it possible to fit the 225 engine and gearbox into the mk1 octy?

of course, but it would be an expensive job.

The Fiats Coupe Turbo were 288mm.

I checked it, they were 305 on the front and 240 on the rear

You could fit a BAM engine into the Octavia vRS, but it would seem a pointless job. You'd be better of sourcing the KO4 turbo, the MAF and so forth....

Just for your curiosity, the brakes on the LCR are not 305 or 312. There 323mm
