In short - not a good idea, resetting the fault code in VAGCOM after scanning for faults is probably the best bet ;)

Alternatively you could buy a code reader/resetter from say Halfords

I've got an idea why you can't ge the bulb out - it's an LED.

I saw your other posts about the codes, so it would seem you know what the problem is.

02 sensor shouldn't be too expensive - try the search as I think most of your issues are well covered.

So you're thinking of taking the bulb out to hide the fact that something is clearly wrong with it! It's this sort of behaviour that brings down the Skoda brand and my faith in buying anything from a private seller!

Yes, you may have good intentions to sell a car that is mechanically sound, but tampering with the ESP light or blanking it will stop the new owner of the car knowing there is a problem, which will mean a problem will go unnoticed longer, resulting in a bigger fix bill... so the owner of this second hand vehicle will probably not buy a skoda again... :(

or buy from a private seller again either.

it's on your concience... but then again, so is the wad of cash some poor chump just gave you. :thumbdwn:

as for the black tape... pure genious... i'm gonna do that with my broken tv set.... when I say broken, I mean, the screen doesnt work in the bottom left corner... i'll just tape it up and put it on ebay

Either get it fixed or reset the code with VAG COM or just tell the guy look it needs a new O2 sensor.

If you decieve the bloke by putting tape over it I do believe he can have comeback on you.

I think you've a bloody cheek asking how to defraud someone.

How would you like it done to you ?

Your conscience - if you've got any.

Reminds me why I went to a dealer for my car.

O2 sensor is probably cheaper than the hell that could be unleashed as a result of a fraudulent sale.

Reminds me why I went to a dealer for my car.

Cos they never deceive people!

Far from it - just you've more comeback, esp if it's the dealer for the marque you're buying and you've a 1 year warranty in the deal.
