Watchdog last night!

Featured Replies

Did anyone see watchdog last night??

They were talking about the coil packs and said VW group was recalling all cars affected. I guessing this is about a UK recall, otherwise it wouldn't have been on Watchdog.

I am gonna call my garage today and ask them to check the coilpacks in my Octa vRS this weekend!

I got my my Octa late November, so it may not be affected :?

Yeh, I saw Watchdog last night. VW stated they are NOT issuing a recall as the fault isn't a safety issue however they will replace the part free of charge on affected vehicles, how kind ! They have launched a service campaign instead of a recall.

I asked our car leasing company if they knew anything about a potential recall today - got an email back saying that there were only a very small number of specific models impacted and that only cars with problems would have cps replaced - they said if I didn't feel the power loss or see the warning light come on then not to worry..........why doesn't that fill me with confidence :? oh well, fingers crossed - so far so good....

Sorry guys  , I only caught a glimpse of the item while I was working. I thought they said they were recalling all affected cars.

don't apologise - there have been so many different stories from various sources, I don't think anyone [b:304ea81254]really[/b:304ea81254] know what's going on..... :)

I contacted my dealer in Navan, Co. Meath (Ireland). He said he hadn't heard of any recalls, he did say that he has 2 coils packs in stock, I don't know how much hassle it would be to get them sent to England though (his website is http://www.tmccarsales.com/). He did say that he previously had a dealer in Dublin looking for one from him, I guess there must be some shortage around the Dublin area.
