French spec Octavia

Featured Replies

Don't ask how or why but I stumbled across the french skoda site.

Have you seen the standard kit on the French Octavia range? our spec is abysmal by comparison.

A TDI 140 L&K would set you back the equivalent of

b*stards!!!

Can you buy in france and get it RHD?

ESP, Xenons, 17" wheels, maxidot, MF steering wheel, (sun roof is that??)

Here in NZ the new vRS Octy is $50k, which works out at just under GPB17,500

Considering that it comes with all of the options for that price it's an absolute bargain!

And they can't use LHD vs RHD production volumes as an excuse either as NZ drives on the left.

remember that 17.5% of the price we pay for our new cars is VAT.

NZ cars have 12.5% GST!

Looks like a sunroof is standard too.

The Elegance gets active head restraints too.

Basically all the options we have to pay for are standard over there.

A RHD version looks very tempting if possible.

L&K gets Bluetooth and colour sat nav and going on the site info it also gets better leather seats.

6cd autochanger only standard on the L&K as well. OH NO!:P

Now we all have a valid reason for not liking the French!

(Sorry if this sounds a bit 'Jade')

And they get the Xenons on the L&K and Elegance (Praha) as standard!

And they can get an electric passenger seat, which certainly wasn't an option when we bought our L&K last year!

No, I didn't mean you to put in a hyperlink to another member of the VAG group.....

remember that 17.5% of the price we pay for our new cars is VAT.

I thought EU taxes were supposed to be harmonised? Or are some countries more EqUal than others?

This is the EU, most countries are more equal than we are.

Noticed the lowest spec is Ambiente - assume that = classic comfort = ambiente

If that is the case why isn't split fold rear seat available on the classic.

OK I now have an elegance but 3 years ago I bought an old shape ambiente on the strength that the new classic didn't have it.
