Mintex xtreme pads

Featured Replies

Got some grooved discs for my vrs and looking into a pad upgrade - priced up ferodo ds2500 :eek: pads and I know the're good but HOW MUCH!!! As an alternative am looking into Mintex xtreme pads as these are a good deal cheaper and a brand I trust. The only thing is has anybody run these? I know a lot of uprated pads have a tendancy to eat discs (something that the ferodos dont do) and wondered if this is the case with the mintex xtreme. - I know they contain ceramic and kevlar which sounds quite abrasive to me :( . -Any feedback on these pads and disc wear would be much appreciated.

Also spoke to Jabba and they don't supply ferodo rear pads, so suggested ferodo fronts and mintex xtreme on the rear - would rather keep same material front and rear.

mintex = shyte.

ds2500 are worth it.

ds2500 = spot on! :thumbup:

Cheers guys, just been searching the net and a few guys on a pug forum didn't rate the mintex at all but raved about the ds2500. Can anyone tell me if you can get ds2500's for the rear of a 2004 octavia vrs.

Any chance people can post part numbers for front and rear - looks like i'll just have to open my wallet a little wider :mad:

Finally when looking at websites for brake pads the Vrs just isn't listed - often comes up 1.8 turbo with ate calipers but mine are Lucus calipers front and rear - I'm guessing all vrs were as mine are standard - had the car since new.

Mintex are ok, they are the same pads as pagid, it just depends on whats what IMHO.

Mintex are actuall E marked, unlike the DS2500, so are road legal

i've allways got on well with mintex pads, iirc they do lots of different types of 'go faster' pads too, they do sintered, semi-metalics, kevlar, etc etc.... it just depends on how much you want to spend and how long you want your discs to last
