Have you learned the System of Car Control? Well done mate!

Thanks all - still can't believe I actually managed it

All I can say is

and it blows RoSPA/IAM out of the water :o

Highly recommended to anyone who fancies improving their driving and Don is a driving and coaching god

Chris

Wish I could afford it... :(

Well done though mate

Whats the insurance discount/increase ;)

Well done chris mate :)

Congratulations

Congrats

Well done!

Whats the insurance discount/increase ;)

No change above my 25% discount for RoSPA, but come renewal time, I might look into the HPC's own insurance scheme which covers you to drive fully comp on any track in Europe as well as to drive any other HPC member's car (and there are some very nice cars in the club .... and a red Ford Mondeo diesel. I can see the queue forming already!)

So whats the sort of cost for the course? Do you have to do all the courses on Don's website?

Well done Chris :D

Much respect for you doing this, going to read more into this.

We all think we're good drivers but this is a different level

There are 3 ways into it currently (via Gatekeepers)

No idea on Clive, but Cadence Driver Development - Dedicated to the Art of Driving and Don Palmer both do 1/2 day assessments to decide whether to put you through the HPC Entry Course (about 16 hours of HP driving over 2 consecutive days) or whether they'd suggest you sign up to somewhere like IAM/RoSPA and get the basics in place first. I'm glad I did RoSPA first!

Worth pointing out that Hugh and Clive are both ex-police driving instructors whereas Don's background is engineering, limit handling, track work, fun etc. All are phenomenal road drivers but I chose Don as I'd been on one of his limit handling courses and we got on like a house on fire :D

Total cost to me was £900, although I had done the limit handling day before Xmas which may have ticked the "car control" boxes for the entry standards so you may have to pay a little more if you need some time at Brunters. If you're interested, just give them a ring/e-mail and they'll explain what's needed.

Oh, and if you use Don let him know I sent you
