Octavia Spec's

Featured Replies

I'm sure this has been done a million times but I seem to be searching endlessly around the site and getting no one single straight answers. What I'm looking for is a guide to the Spec's of the MK1.

What year was the vRS introduced?

Is there a 150HP and a 180BHP model?

If so, when was the 180BHP introduced?

I see lots of talk about mapping so I assume the respond well to it, but what kind of realistic power can you get from a 180 mapped? Both BHP and ft lb's of torques?

What are the different trim levels?

What's special about a LaurinKleaments? I see some for sale but can't make out what makes them different to any otherspec?

I'll be looking for a vRSwith full leather and climate control, which model should I look for?

How much is that doggie in the window? :)

Think that's enough questions from a new guy!!!

To the best of my knowledge:

vRS introduced in 2001 (few early Y plate cars but most are 51 plate)

The 180 bhp version is only available on the vRS model. The 150bhp is available on Elegance and Laurin & Klement models in both 2wd and 4wd versions. On the Octavia the 180bhp version was introduced on the vRS so 2001.

When mapped expect about 210bhp and 215lbft on a stock model. When exhausts, induction etc are added the max is around 250bhp and 270lbft at which point the K03s turbo cannot flow enough air to reach any higher power. Reputable tuners include JBS, Jabbasport, Awesome Gti, Impossible Performance and many others.

Trim levels for the facelift version include Classic, Ambiente, Elegance, vRS and Laurin & Klement. The Laurin & Klement is the highest spec and comes with lots of kit and a wide choice of engines.

There is only one vRS model, this comes with climate control and half leather as standard (don't think full leather is an option except on the Laurin & Klement)

The doggy in the window is not for sale :P

HTH :D

2001

180bhp only

Remap around 210-220bhp and 240lb/ft or so.

L&K, no idea, looks pretty plush inside though.

vRS standard came with half leather/white mesh interior. Climate is standard.

£100

Thanks for the replies.

180BHP excellent stuff. The more donkey's the better

L&K's that I've seen have leather so I guess I'll keep an eye out for one of them. Well it's about time I had a bit of nice under me. 1600cc Passat's are only ever going to be an A-B car. No fun, so I'll get the fun car with toys!!!

They respond to re-maps much better than I thought. So it's all good news!!!

As for the dog, I've changed my mind. He'd make **** of the seats :D

This Sticky Thread gives more info....

Note - you can either have the L&K or the vRS - but not both. Well not unless you buy two cars!

You need to choose between donkeys under the bonnet or cows on the seats.

You could get a vRS and have the white seat inserts retrimed if you have to have full leather.

@andy - great link, exactly what I'm after. It means vRS for me so. :D

@auroan - Leather isn't that important, just think it would be nice. I'd prefer to spend that money on performance rather than comfort
