Towbar Wiring Loom Adapter

Featured Replies

We're producing so much garden waste from our 1/4 acre that we either need to get a skip every three months or so, or I'll have to change my views on trailers on the vRS and get a towbar fitted

I've done some searching and read about the wiring loom adapter available from VAG. Does anyone know the part number?

Presumably the adapter gives you wires to plumb into the appropriate connector for the trailer? NZ trailers have a different (smaller) connector.

I'm going to speak to local towbar places but given the amount of care taken with my car by garages in the past, and the shoddy job done by a Toyota dealer on my dad's Avensis, I intend to do the fitting myself.

Any information would be appreciated, including the Skoda genuine part numbers for the removable towbar if anyone has them to hand. Worth pricing for comparison if nothing else.

Cheers!

I don't have time now Rob but I'll look later if it's not already been answered.

Excellent, thanks very much for your help.

There is also a tool for the bumper cut out Rob but you can probably find a way around that.

Thanks for that. I called the local Skoda dealer and they quoted $420 for the lot - about 150 quid.

It'll be a differnt part to the UK one though because apparently we have different sized balls over here!

And the power connector's completely different.

The other thing he mentioned - which I though was brilliant - is they refer to the bit that sticks of with the ball on the end as the "donkey co_ck"!
