really annoying thing, can I turn this off?

Featured Replies

I find that when I use the washers on the front windscreen, after a few seconds, the wipers "do one more turn" and make even more smears across the windscreen

Its really annoying, is there a way to turn this off:D

Try giving your wipers a clean with vinegar first.

good idea, I'l have a root through my cupboards but not sure I've got any vinegar in:thumbup:

just get to any skoda dealer/garage and tell them you want to turn it off. All they have to do is to plug in the VAG com scanner, 5 minutes and it's done.

do you think they would do that?

Depends if they're helpful or money grabbing gits :D

...or even whether you catch them at a quiet time rather than when it's bedlam...

I'm not sure about the UK dealers but here I used to turn on/off some programable options at local skoda dealer (opening just the driver's door by pressing the "open" button on my car key, "the one more turn" that drove me crazy too). really depends on the dealer though.

Sounds like a good excuse to visit Blackpool for fish and chips!

FAO VRStu: Can I ask if you'd like to add this to the Fabia Tips thread? It'd be a good place to scrol through to find the answer when not sure of keywords to search for :)

I've heard others complain, especially on motorway driving when it's just long enough to allow enough muck to have collected and thus smear when the final swipe goes across.

You couldn't make it up could you? E.g. "I know, I'll wash the windows again." Two seconds later  Repeat at leisure

exactly my moan that, even tho I have been accused of being picky, I mostly drive on the motorway and its awful when you get behind a lorry:D

You also have the choice to alter the delay for the final swipe.

If you activate the windscreen washers then immediately turn the windscreen wipers on to the first full on setting then off again it doesn't do the time delayed sweep. (06 Fabia vRS) ;)
