Just had a quote from Claybank for a 60k Service and cambelt change!

I'll be getting IVC in Leeds to do mine (Independant VAG specialist). I'm certain they'll be cheaper than DM Keith down the road to do the same work, especially considering after 60k the warranty is no longer valid anyway.

i have driven past IVC and always wondered if they are anygood? you every had any dealings with them chris?

I live GrManchester - I use an independent, have used them for over 10 years (started using them when I was taxiing). They service anything from Fiestas, Jags & up to the odd Porsche.

Elder owner was once Service Manager for Honda motorbikes (many moons ago) and also used to race a very heavily modded Lada - don't laugh, it was precisely cos it was a Lada that he modded it. Fearsome beast.

Younger mechanic used to own BMWs, Evos, Toyota Supra turbo - all serviced & modded by himself.

I'll be taking my vRS Fabia there (naturally) shortly as it is due for its MOT soon as they are Very trustworthy. They are in Lees, in Oldham.

Do you want me to get a quote for you ( and I definitely do not have any association with them or any other firm) ?

Preferably would need vehicle details - age, engine number

& what exactly is involved in Cambelt and 60k service - they may have the details but this way we'd be sure.
