The middle (which I couldnt fit into a decen pic) has the following text , along with a pic of the car parked up on the side of a river , with a man fishing , his wife sitting on a deckchair next to their tent , and their daughter playing in the river.

"The Skoda Octavia combi will facilitate your work , improve your business , hual your goods at a fast pace and low cost to any destination , and gain you popularity among your customers

The octavia combi will ensure you a fascinating week-end , a motor camping holiday , or a vacation tour in full comfort

" Featured by it's elegant styling , the car is most purposeful and practical. You will appreciate the extra large load carrying area and whenever touring with heaps of luggage , hauling cargos , or camping.

I hope some of you found this interesting ... sorry I have no idea how it would fare against a Civic type R or a BMW 3 series!!...LOL:)

Nice little piece of history there.... more than worth keeping hold of.

Wonder what that 47bhp would go up to with a remap and a panel filter????

Love that 'Octavia' lettering... I wonder if I can get one of ebay? ;)

So does that mean that we will now have to call the Octy1 the Octy 2, and the Octy2 the Octy3??? :)

Thats a damn fine point you have there!!

No

Octavia - was the original

FWD Octavia was New Octavia

Octavia II is Octavia II

the favorit most people on here know was I believe the second skud design to carry the favorit name, the original I think was 1940's era.

I've got one sat here in my hand now Q

Unfortunately it's got an extra metal strip under the lettering where it attaches.

I'm very tempted to try and file it off and get it rechromed and attached to my octy.

I've also got the owners handbook for one - it mentions having to grease the suspension components every 1500 miles

You're supposed to do that to the torsion bar equipped VW Beetles too!! (ie excluding the MacPherson 1302/3 series)

:) I love old brochures, I have a few myself. I've posted some up in "General car chat"
