My Day at Welsh Coast Customs

Featured Replies

I spent the morning down at Welsh Coast Customs in Newport having my new exhaust system fitted. I was after something that looked the part but wasn't too over the top and they have sorted me out a treat

The guys were awesome and very friendly. The system was also very good value too. Local competition was Longlife Exhausts in Cardiff who quoted

Looks a better fit than the stock one!

I have used Welsh Coast Customs before and Gareth is a top bloke.

I can heartly recommend them!

BTW is this a turbo back without the cat?

are they actually any good?

seen some of the crap they've put out, and the name doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Cat back on this. I've had some problems in the past with exhausts and MOTs. My pug 205 failed it's MOT and the garage took it all off and put on a standard one and charged me for it......can't be dealing with that again!

I'm happy with mine but I guess they will do any car - I've seen their exhausts on some really 'chavy' cars but they won't exactly refuse business will they!

Very clever company name.

But not so clever car styling by the looks of things.

Zorst looks good though.

No, they do everything to order so it's likely that the end users aspirations that make it in the flesh.

They do very good exausts, all made to measure with good materials. They also have a mandrel bender which makes a difference to the overall flow of the system.

You diesel won't fail it's MOT because of a cat, there is no emmisions test with diesels.

That back box looks awesome, but without removing the cat the gains will be small. I was thinking of going down to get a decat pipe made by them but seeing this makes me want to get the whole system!

hmmm... saw one of their automotive abortions today... I think it used to be a Fiesta....

it's a shame that that's what most of Newport wants, since the paint (from what I've seen) looks good :(

Don't suppose it was a bright yellow fiesta? - not exactly my cup of tea!

You knows it clart! ;)

I'm tempted to go back and get it de-catted now!! :D

There have been some questions about back pressure, but it seems that the pd130 runs ok with a straight pipe....

yes, that's the one :)

Decron, Babs - fancy a trip to WCC and see if they will do some sort of group discount if a few of us turn up, kind of a mini group buy of sorts?

possibly?

will have to see when I get mine! :)

Whens yours due> Been reading the forums a little recently, you were talking about the limited edition race blue one iirc?

decided against it :)

decided Race Blue would look pap on a Fabia, so my Red one should be arriving soon, picking up on the 1st of March :)

you gota love scumport

Is the fiesta you're on about the one with super wide arches and body panels all round? The car's about 2ft wider than a standard fiesta!

Gez, a bit OT but the third brake light mod you have done - how did you do it?

Also, is it ok with the plods?

Hmmm.

Ill speak to Gareth (On of the Owners) in the next week and see what he says. It would have to be done on a GB basis. To be honest they are not expensive anyway but I will speak to him.

Gah I see that yellow fiesta around here all the the time, along with some hideous green thing that sounds like a wasp farting through a megafone.

To be honest, I don't think it is legal but haven't had any trouble as of yet. I think it was the first thing I did when I picked up the car! It was an ebay job where some guy was making them with whatever you wanted ono the template.

I know my Furby isn't everyone's cup of tea but each to his own! - the finishing bits are all under the bonnet now so I guess what you see is it visually finished!

White Dove Skoda are going to have a fit when it goes in for it's 2 year service in March!

All the best.
