de-badge - wish i hadn't now

Featured Replies

Well, after spending 2 hours cleaning the car i thought... i know... i'll have a go at de-badging the Octavia and Skoda badge off the boot (obviously leaving the vRS on:D ). Wish I hadn't now. What a mess i've made! Looks like i've just ripped the thing off and brought off loads of little spots of paint. Touch up paint all over the place. To top it all off.. if you take the Skoda badge off there's 2 holes! Thought there'd only be one, not that that matters. Out with the putty, fill it, wait and then more bl##dy touch up paint. Looks like i'll have to call Chips Away when i have a bit of spare cash though. And yes i did use the old hot water and hairdryer trick, but some blokes must have used superglue to put mine on:mad:

Also, went over to the shops in Durham to get some cleaning stuff for the car -

My rear centre skoda badge came off the back really easy,

so sounds like someone might of glued yours on.

I wasnt wanting the de-badge look as mine was scratched

to bits so was just replacing like for like but noticed the

2 holes you where on about.

And I also wish this damn weather would change as you cant

keep your car clean for 5 mins :(

my octavia badge was also glued on and when i pulled it off it ruined the paint. in the end i had 2 get it repained as it looked terrible

Debadged my red VRS and put the vrs badge over the two holes. Decided to do it after seeing a fabia on here already done.

It's a 04 plate, so i assume that is a MK1?!

Looking to put one on the left side and one on the right side near the wheel arch, so whatevers the best quote please.

Same as mine then, ill get back to you later with a price.

1; Why debadge, it's a Skoda be proud (having said that, I've got a badge-less grill on mine, but the back remains the same ,,,,,,,,, it's a "look what's done you" statement)!

2; If you don't know if you've got a Mk1 or 2 ,,,,,, buy a Kia!

Got stuck in traffic, so i didnt make it to the garage in time. When i get some ill post a price up.

I would like to remove the "20 Valve Turbo" badge from the boot. Is is a simple procedure or is it best left alone. I am starting to attract a lot of attention from Hondas

Another tip for de-badging is to use dental floss to slide in behind the badge. Can help to remove it more easily.

Well, after spending 2 hours cleaning the car i thought... i know... turns into the back roads, off she goes, over the brow of the hill, pause, foot down... and straight into a load of cow sh#t! WHY DID I BOTHER CLEANING IT?!! Can't wait for summer!

Cor the cows in zummerset sh@t in the summer as well :D

I'd wash the car first and then use the hot water trick to soften the glue, then slowly pull the badge off by getting your fingers behind the badge. If it's not coming off then poor more hot water over it. The hair dryer was a good idea and worked too!

I took the Octavia lettering off,but left my nice big skoda badge on.

It is imperative that people know the car in front is not a Toyota but a Skoda
