itunes

Itunes is a bloated piece of crap. If you dont buy songs through it I can see no reason to actually use the malware.

I'm ashamed to say I agree with you there.

Like group therapy??

Hi everybody, my name's Rob and I prefer Media Player 11 to itunes.

It all started a few weeks ago when itunes was misbehaving and I just couldn't stand it anymore, I opened MP11 and once I'd started using it I couldn't stop! ever since then I've become addicted and can't stop!!:rofl:

Yet another iPod manager - Home

 iTunes still Rules:thumbup:

To be honest I
I think part of the problem is that iTunes is a Macintosh application & as far as I can see Apple have it working exactly the same way on the PC as it does on Macintosh.

I'm a Mac user; I like my Mac, I like iTunes & I like the 'Mac' way of working; but people who use Windows PC's are used to a different way of working & so I think iTunes can feel 'alien' or 'wrong'.

You

I've only really recently started using Mac's (2 and a half years now before then I had a macphobia:D) and I have to admit I do prefer the way they do things to the point that the windows ways seem just plain silly/wrong. Just to dispel any assumptions now i've been working with/using the various version of windows over the last 10 years (and have done a couple of M$ exams)... lol

I have to admit my first impression of iTunes was that it is over controlling and not what I wanted, after all I had been using winamp for years (I did play around with media player but I found it pretty lame in comparison)... but I sat down and started to use it as I was quite interested in replacing my Sony NetMD with and iPod (Sony hardware great:thumbup: but the software was really bad!:thumbdwn: so now I've realised what I can do with it and how to use I'm hooked. :)

If you started out without a digital music collection it's a great tool that just works out of the box.

If you already have an established digital music collection then it does require a little bit of thought if you want to use iTunes to look after that collection.

I've yet to come across anything else that you can chuck hundreds of gigs of music at and it sort it all for you perfectly (including any/all duplicates :)), now admittedly I've not really looked that hard and if such an app exists then  and please feel free to correct me :)

I'm not saying Apple are flawless and they can do no wrong as I do like to keep an open mind, but they do have a knack of making software (and hardware) that is very intuitive to use.

I honestly don't see what there is to hate about iTunes, whether people where expecting something different or that they don't like the way it does things or maybe just the fact it's Apple and it's tied to the iPod (but then again the Sony software ONLY works with a Sony walkman) or if some people are simply just following the crowd, I don't know, but what I do know is there isn't one size that fits all :D

Sorry for the long winded post thats only just vaguely on topic :D
