Sliding Partition Net???

Featured Replies

I haven't seen the sliding partition net - must be a new product as I recently purchased the dog guard which is attached to the rear seat posts.

Not sure if its a UK option ?

I looked into it on the mark 1 and came to the conclusion it must have only been available in a few countries. I suspect the same stands for the mark 2 and its not available on UK spec cars.

Also noticed that it mentions the Octavia Combi - which is the continental name for Estate? Therefore not UK Spec ?

It bugs me that its not available here. Those things are a real safety bonus if you have a loaded boot, or have the seats down. Might have to look into a retrofit, if possible. Its going to be a big job though, and assumes any mounting points are there, but under the headliner.

I remember the Netting i had for my Ford Focu Estate, I had to cut the headling for a trim to be snapped in place.

The standard UK Dog Guard has two posts that fix to the back of the seats.

Fitting:

1. Remove load cover and variable floor (where fitted)

2. recline seats

3. hook the posts onto the U-Bend that the seats normally clamp to

4. place seats and floor back

5. Drop dog guard on top of posts and use thumb screws to secure in place

I paid £100 for this at my local dealer and took about 20 minutes to fit....

I will scan the Instructions in at work to a PDF and get VRStu to put them on his website.

Email from SUK:

"I can confirm the sliding partition net is a factory fit option which Skoda UK did not take up. However, it is possible to have the sliding partition net, service installed by an approved Skoda retailer. The approximate cost of the parts alone would be £350.00 - £400.00 plus labour which would involve removing the head lining of the vehicle. Please contact your local Skoda retailer who will be able to advise further."

Won't be getting one of those then!

The brother of a girl I knew years back was killed by unsecured loads shifting, in a minor accident, so I'm considering it. It has the advantage of lifting behind the front seats, to catch stuff when the rear seats are folded down. I'm sure the existing headliner could be modified, to save replacing that, and I'd guess thats the bulk of the cost.

All things considered what price do you put on safety?

Phil

I believe by removing the headliner they refer to the labour cost as obviosuly you would need to line up where the cuts need to go.

Possible, but if they factored in a new liner, that aint going to be cheap. I think a full parts manual for the Octy 2 will be in order here!

Ok Skoda list different headliners for with or without the net partition, obviosly as for production the holes will be pre cut.

The mounting brackets for an estate without sunroof are 1U9861706D plus the appropriate color code. You also need 1U9861821 (retainer clip), N 90777901 (rivited cap nut 4no), and N 10268401 (fillister head bolt 5no). Obviosuly 4 sets of the above.

The net is 1U9861691B (but there are two versions listed) and you need 3B9861703C (retianing strip - unsure how many) and N 10432901 (torq socket fillister bolt - unsure how many)
